Want to know how our pickleball paddles get assembled? It starts (and ends) with Susan Burleigh. She works hard to provide you with the highest quality products. We were excited to interview her this month and find out a little more about her and some of her free time activities. And wow! You wouldn't believe some of her craft projects.
Where did you grow up? Are you a native Pittsburgher?
Pittsburgh yes native Pittsburgher
What is your current position at GAMMA Sports and how long have you worked here?
Production a little over a year.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Making paddles.
What is the fastest time that you can assemble a pickleball paddle?
About 25 hours (after edge guarding the paddle has to dry over night)
Have your ever played tennis or pickleball?
Tennis but long ago and just for fun.
You mentioned that you love to thrift, go to flea markets, and garage sales. What is one of the coolest things that you’ve found on your adventures?
An egg shaped music box and sterling silver baby mug.
Are you currently working on any crafts or home remodeling projects at the moment?
Redoing a little wooden wagon for my side yard.
I love that you do projects with your daughter! Do you have any other children? How many grandkids do you have?
I also have a son. He lives in Portage Indiana. All together I have 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson
You also told me that you’re an animal lover! What’s your favorite animal?
Tiger
Do you have any pets of your own?
No
What’s one piece of advice you wished someone had shared with you when you were younger?
Always treat loved ones like it’s your last. You never know how long you have with them.
