The GAMMA Method
How does GAMMA create a stronger, tougher and more flexible material that holds tension longer and breaks less often? It all starts with our proprietary process, and a stiff co-polymer material. The material is exposed to the GAMMA irradiation process, and the long-chain molecules are broken down and reassembled into millions of entangled and linked bonds. This original patented process increases the number of intermolecular bonds in the string, increasing resiliency and strength and resulting in strings that last longer and perform better.
Our synthetic strings offer the greatest combination of power, control and shock reduction of any premium tennis string on the market. This second-generation Thermo Nuclear Process (hence TNT2) improves two factors related to string’s performance: storing energy (dynamic elasticity) and returning energy to the ball (dynamic resiliency). These qualities help ensure that the ball will stay on the strings longer for maximum accuracy, control, speed and power.
GAMMA’s multifilament string construction, combined with our TNT2 technology, helps accelerate the molecular bonding (cross linkage) by more than 25 percent to create Live Wire monofibers. This provides an incredible combination of power and control that other premium tennis strings simply can’t offer.
Glide™ Low Friction Technology
This state-of-the-art technology helps the main strings slide freely along the Glide Cross Strings. When the ball makes contact with the main strings, it will travel further and recover faster, all while transferring more energy to the ball and providing more spin, power and comfort for the player. GAMMA Glide™ Cross String is a patent-pending string technology that’s the result of our ongoing research around string lubricity and spin generation. Our racquet string is the only one of its kind that incorporates this unique polyvinylidene fluoride material in its construction. Unlike other coatings or surface treatments that wear away over time, this GAMMA technology lasts for the life of the string, because it is the string.
The longevity of your strings can be credited to GAMMA’s Wearguard technology. While most strings notch in place, which causes fraying or breaking, our wear-reducing fibers are engineered to reduce notching when hitting the ball.
