GAMMA Pickleball Brand Partner playing doubles, adaptive pickleball.

Pickleball is a sport that can be played by people of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances. For GAMMA Brand Partner, Mindy Rashbaum, she knows the latter to be particularly true as she has devoted her time to Tropical Wheelchair Sports a 501c3 charity that brings awareness to wheelchair sports and athletes in Naples, Florida.

We wanted you to get to know Mindy, so we decided to pick her brain and learn more about her passion for pickleball.

How did you start playing pickleball?

I am a tennis instructor and about a year and a half ago, I heard about pickleball through the grapevine. Shortly thereafter, I was asked to start an indoor pickleball program at the facility where I work. And the rest, you can say, is history!

What is your favorite GAMMA pickleball paddle?

So far, I’m a big fan of the Voltage 2.0!

How often do you get to play?

I try to hit the courts a few time per week.

Why do you love pickleball?

I love pickleball because of the culture of people who play, the social aspect of this sport and the ease of the game for players to develop their skillsets.

What motivates you on the pickleball court and in life?

The fact that pickleball is a clean and fun sport that people of all ages and backgrounds can play motivates me each time I hit the court. In life, plain and simple, the truth is my motivator.

Who do you typically play with?

You can find me on the pickleball courts playing with either my friends or my clients.

What’s your best pickleball stroke?

I would have to say that my best stroke in pickleball is a tossup! I believe that I have both a strong serve and volley.

What’s one thing that everyone can do to improve their pickleball game?

I think that there’s always room for improvement when it comes to agility and reflex movements. The more you practice, the better you’ll get!
