"Great ball for practicing indoors very low noise."
"Very quiet indeed! Safe to use indoors. Good to practice at home if no access to courts and hassle free as its quiet and won't disturb anyone. Size of ball, and the bounce height is similar to an actual pickleball. Have not played outside with it as yet so I cannot say how quickly it would get dirty."
"Great for practicing indoors when it’s too hot"
"Overall these balls are super quite which is exactly what I was looking for! The color is not bad, I personally wish they were a little bit brighter. In terms of a noise difference between these and the plastic balls these are SO much quieter."
"Enjoy playing with Librarian balls, and they completely solve the noise problem. Would better if they were a darker richer color for visibility."
"I teach pickleball. I believe this is currently the best FOAM ball on the market. I believe foam balls are great for practice at home and enable you to practice your shots off garage walls or just tapping in your living room without driving spouses or pets crazy with the sound."
"Let's face it, a foam ball will not be the same as a plastic ball, so I am not expecting it to be. It won't be a replacement for a traditional pickleball, but it has its purpose and it can be fun. Pros: - It is really quiet enough for practicing against the walls in the house, or for playing at a neighbourhood court where noise is a concern. - It is actually quite fun playing with it, due to the amount of spin you can put on the ball, and the soft feel upon impact. There is no harsh feeling upon contact, and no worries of injuries. Cons: - It is too bouncy, and the bounce height is significantly higher than a traditional USAP approved pickleball. I tested dropping the Gamma Librarian alongside a Franklin X-26, Franklin X-40, and a Selkirk ProS1, on a hard floor at home, as well as on a proper outdoor pickleball court. In all cases, the Gamma ball bounced noticeably higher than the other balls. (i. e. 2-5 inches difference). - This means that Gamma marketing the ball as having a "TRUE BOUNCE LIKE A NORMAL PICKLEBALL" is not true. - While it is actually somewhat fun to play with, the bounce is way too high for a proper gameplay where good drops and dinks would still bounce very high, and end up in speed-ups and drives. - Since the bounce is not correct, then it is not worth the price. If the bounce of the ball can be reduced to truely match that of a normal pickleball (and maybe to increase the weight a little), I think it would be great fun, and I would buy it again!"
"I was able to play with this ball and was impressed and afraid. I felt like turning around in a parking lot and finding myself in the path of a Tesla. I do wish there were more markings - not to emulate a regular ball, but to see the spin."
"Librarians are fun to play with and excellent for practice against the garage door and not bother the neighbors. They are more bouncier than normal pickleballs and take some getting used to. They are fun to play with and very quiet."
"We love these balls! They are a tad different from hard plastic but soooo quiet, no more HOA issues! If you ever need a Texas Rep, I'm yer huckleberry!!!"
